Wychwood Stables is about the kiddies....and where you have kids, you meet those amazing creatures called Mommys. When I bought Wychwood Stables, I needed to find a fitting logo. Something special., I was looking for something to sum up what I wanted our stable yard to depict, and the image to be recognised for, and to explain how, we felt about our horses and the passengers we place on their backs. I search the internet and Mommy and Me jumped out at me. I found the Artist's page and started reading....I had found my PERFECT image and logo. Now my task was to secure the image so that we could legally use the image. I wrote and email to the Artist, Sharlene Lindskog-Osorio, This I did in 2008 , during President Obama inauguration, I quickly got mail back from Sharlene. The Artist generously allowed me to use her paining, asking only that we refer people to her website.
To this day we proudly portray the image we so love.

DEVOTION
My mommy, Loving and sweet, She’s always there As I lay at her feet. The warm morning sun Shines in our stall, Wonderful moments I’ll always recall. We run in the pasture Enjoying the day, My favorite place Where I love to play. My playmates and I Have so much fun. We frolic in the meadow, Til the day is done. I never stray from her, She's always there. My loving protector, I'm safe in her care. - Sharlene Lindskog-Osorio |
QUOTE
While viewing her various works, it doesn't take long to get the impression that her greatest love and admiration is for Arabian horses. As expressed in her own words, "Though I appreciate and admire the beauty of every breed, there is one inspiration in my eyes that stands out among all. I fell hopelessly in love with the Arabian breed many years ago after visiting an Arabian horse show. I was breathlessly captivated by their elegant beauty, the gracefulness and amazing spirit of these gorgeous creatures! From then on, I could hardly remove them from the depths of my mind, and painting Arabians became a never ending passion. After hundreds of art pieces, I never become tired of Arabians. They are truly ”poetry in motion” and my joy of expression! As a lover of the beautiful, through my art, it is my desire to share with the world the beauty I have beheld through the years, that it may be conveyed through each created piece." |
Artist's Comment:
"Mommy and Me depicts the closeness of a mother and her baby. The proud little one chews on a tassel of his mother’s halter, with a look as if to say "I'm with my mommy!"
In the planning of this completely original piece, I was influenced by the 17th century Western Art of the Italian Baroque period (famous for varied light and shadowed affects). I added more warmth and a luminated look to my rendering.
Publications: Equine Vision Magazine, Spring 2003, page 38.
Licensing:Arabian Horse Source, Inc. (the official web design provider for the customers of the Arabian Horse Association) licensed "Mommy and Me" for their website, business materials, including trade show displays and brochures; 2006.
